Factory workers and production managers across the United Arab Emirates now have a single front door for the support they need to modernise their operations. Announced on 14 September 2026 in Abu Dhabi, Factory Forward UAE brings together the country’s existing technology transformation programmes under one integrated platform, giving manufacturers a structured path through what has often been a confusing and fragmented process.
The practical problem the initiative addresses is familiar to anyone running a factory: knowing which technologies suit your operations, and how to actually implement them without getting lost in competing options and unclear funding routes. Factory Forward gives manufacturers a way to assess where they stand technologically, identify gaps, and connect directly with technical experts, technology providers, support programmes and financing partners. Rather than leaving factory owners and their teams to navigate that landscape alone, the programme links them to the people and resources that can guide and fund the transition.
More than 700 UAE factories have already benefited from the ministry’s existing transformation work. Over 620 of those have been assessed through the Industrial Technology Transformation Index, and Factory Forward builds on that foundation by creating a single entry point for manufacturers seeking to upgrade.
The programme centres on Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and automation systems capable of improving operational efficiency. Manufacturers gain access to case studies showing how other factories have successfully adopted these tools, offering concrete evidence of what is achievable within their own industry context. That matters. Knowing a technology exists is one thing; seeing how it performs in conditions similar to your own is what actually moves decisions forward.
His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, placed the initiative within a broader national commitment. “Guided by our leadership’s vision, the UAE continues to build a competitive industrial sector by investing in people, improving skills and integrating technology across the value chain,” he said. “Our focus is on helping factories use more advanced technology, including AI, to increase productivity, improve efficiency, and compete more effectively.”
The programme operates through three categories of partners. Technology partners help manufacturers assess their current maturity and recommend suitable solutions for their specific circumstances. Enablement partners provide training, specialist advice and technical expertise to support implementation on the ground. Financing partners help manufacturers secure funding for transformation projects, removing the financial barriers that most commonly delay modernisation.
Factory Forward UAE aligns with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology and the Make it in the Emirates initiative, both of which prioritise strengthening domestic industrial capacity and encouraging local manufacturing. The programme is designed to help manufacturers improve productivity, build more resilient supply chains and expand into local and international markets.
