She described living through “the worst moment of my life” and explained her decision to speak publicly, saying she felt compelled to defend her daughter’s memory against what she characterized as unfair judgment in the days following the tragedy.

“I have to watch my daughter’s memory being judged, exposed, disrespected by people who didn’t know her story,” Darla said in the clip, as translated from Portuguese into English. “It’s easy to be a judge when the pain belongs to someone else. It’s hard to imagine what our family is going through right now.”

Darla’s statement reflected anguish over both the loss itself and the public commentary that had surfaced since her daughter’s death. She referenced “the accusations, the mean comments, the stories being made up about her,” suggesting that speculation and criticism had compounded the family’s grief during an already devastating time.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement acknowledging the case, saying the department is “monitoring the case and remains available to the family to provide appropriate consular assistance” through the Brazilian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. The statement, made to G1, underscores the diplomatic attention the death has drawn as officials work to support Bilhar’s family.

Bilhar had cultivated a visible presence on social media, where her content centered on luxury lifestyle imagery, travel photography from across the Middle East, and personal selfies.
